About Kyra Haigh: Prenatal Yoga Instructor
Kyra has been practicing yoga for the past ten years and has been teaching since 2003. She completed the 500 hour advanced teacher certification through YogaWell’s Institute of Progressive Therapies in San Diego.

Kyra is a trained prenatal and postnatal yoga instructor. She deepened her work as a yoga instructor by training as a doula to assist women during labor and the birthing process. Kyra has taught prenatal yoga at numerous places including nationally recognized Mary Birch Women’s Center of Sharp Hospital and Best Start Birth Center. She worked as Clinical Yoga Director for Reproductive Wellness, a natural treatment center for supporting fertility and pregnancy. Kyra also served on the YogaWell Birth Specialist Training Board, developing a yoga teacher training program for preconception, pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Kyra brings to her teaching a background in counseling with over ten years experience working with families. She has found yoga to be a natural extension and compliment to this work by addressing life’s challenges though a more holistic framework. When Kyra is not practicing or teaching yoga in Richmond, she can be found with her family, enjoying mommy-hood with her son Dillon.

Kyra currently teaches prenatal yoga classes at Ashtanga Yoga Richmond in Virginia.

“Kyra’s yoga classes truly helped me to stay centered during my pregnancy. I don’t think it is a coincidence that my son is so calm and mellow, even at 8 months… I really believe that her yoga classes helped form his personality. Plus, I so looked forward to Kyra’s classes every week. They kept my body from aching and helped my mind stay relaxed and excited for my new baby. I hope that she will continue bringing calmness to pregnant women’s lives through prenatal yoga… it was a true gift to all of us.” –Robin Kaplan

“Kyra’s class still stands out amongst all other yoga classes because of her gentle manner, beautiful music and reminders to appreciate our bodies. I just wanted her to know how much joy and inspiration I got from her class” –Lynn Walrath

“I cannot begin to tell you how much the prenatal yoga classes are helping me. I cancel any other plans just to be there as it makes such a difference.” – Dana Houston-Jackson

“The prenatal yoga classes have been a highlight of my pregnancy. I have really enjoyed Kyra’s teaching style and her warm and gentle spirit.” – Jen Stein
